Rather than creating an entirely new Shopify store for your wholesale customers, you can simply add a wholesale subdomain to your existing store.
By default, all new wholesale stores have a domain set as:
www.yourshopifystorename.wholesale.shopifyapps.com
Your wholesale store domain name can be changed as a subdomain of any existing domain, even if it’s not associated with your online store.
With that said, most people choose to create a subdomain of their primary domain. However, if you purchased another domain specifically for your wholesale account, you might want to choose that option.
These are the steps for setting up a subdomain for your Shopify wholesale store:
Step #1: Add a CNAME record to the domain of your online store. There are different ways to do this depending on if your domain was purchased through Shopify or a third-party provider.
Step #2: Click “Connect Domain” from the “Preferences” page of your wholesale sales channel.
Step #3: Type the subdomain that you want to use. (For example: yourstore.wholesale.com)
Step #4: Click “Verify Connection” to ensure that your subdomain is working properly.
Note: If you add a CNAME to your domain (like we did in the first step), it could take up to 24 hours for the verification to work.
